It's an old saying but usually very true. We have a tendency to pull in that which we do to others. It's also very good advice that we should all live by. One of the commandments is "Do unto others as you would have done to you". You don't have to be religious to know that it is a saying that has a good meaning.
Life after death is a controversial subject. Some people believe in it and some don't. There is no scientific proof that you don't come back. But there are thousands of people who can recall places they have been or things about people they knew that has ultimately proven to be true.
If there is life after death then we should all take note of it and hope that when we kill in this life we do not come back and be killed in the next. When we steal in this life we do not come back and have our things stolen in the next.
Karma: the total effect of a persons actions and conduct during the successive phases of his existence, regarded as determining his destiny.
Lets just say that we do come back.
Obviously we do not have much recollection of that past life or we would all be claiming that we were some person or another. We do get moments of Deja vu and there are many child prodigies that have skills that are just so unexplained. Perhaps that great 4 year old pianist was a pianist in his past life. The older generation would say "You have been here before" after a child would say or do something that was not in his vocabulary or ability. People can talk in tongues not learned or heard.
It could mean that our past just might catch up with us. The things that we did just may come back and bite us in the behind.
When we set up a government that promises the betterment of a people and have ulterior motives or just plain stupidly allow laws to be passed that ultimately have not been thought through, it would behoove them to consider that they may just possibly have to come back and live the life that they set up.
They may not remember setting it up, making laws for monetary gain and for their betterment in this life only.
They may not remember that the contraceptives they refused to allow is now killing them because Aids is so rampant.
They may not remember that the polar bear that is standing in front of them may be going to kill them because they killed polar bears in the past.
They may not remember that their wives are dying because they helped introduce death by "Reason of life for the fetus".
They may not remember that their 11 year old daughters are sitting with child after being raped by their grandfather's or uncles because they let that law be passed that they cannot get an abortion. They are now having to take their child and grandchild to visit their fathers in jail, because of parental visiting right laws. But luckily they won't have to face their fathers or uncles much longer as their children, grandchildren and fathers and uncles are all dying of Aids.
They may not remember that the religion they once practised is now obsolete. That there is only one religion allowed.
They may not remember the lives they took after invading a country but they will remember being killed or ruled by them out of the hopes it will never happen to them again.
They may not remember that they cannot be a politician because in this life there is only one rule government and they are not born into it.
They may not remember that they cannot save their money because the government takes it in taxes. They may think it has always been that way.
They may not write what they want, say what they want, go where they want or buy what they wants because of the laws that they allowed to be passed to spy on everyone.
They may not remember the constitution because there isn't one.
They may live in a Brave New World.
They may not remember that laws being passed now are not only for our children but for our future and quite possibly theirs.
It does not hold to politicians. What we allow now could also be there if and when we return. The responsibilty of a good life is ours and ours alone. There will always be a fight worth fighting and freedom is a fight we all have to fight for or we submiss to the powers that be.
It doesn't matter that you may believe in just one life. The future of our children is still the concern.
While life after death remains a mystery there are many religions who believe there is a return and that we do come back.
I hope our future leaders take note and believe in what they put forth today may just be their demise in the next.
We may not be so tolerant in the next.
