The Artist's Role
To bring forth the beauty of god into the realm of man has been the historical role of the artist. The industrial revolution brought the common man the arts of literature,music,photography,posters,furniture,utensils, cookery and buildings.
Of course all the new inventions through the centuries were thought of and produced by artists. Artists are not just musicians, painters, writers or actors.
Our culture of consumerism is brought to us by the corporate world of unidentifiable people, artists with no names. Artists are thought of as aloof, misunderstood, wierdo's, and some time geniuses.
So what is an artist?
It is some one who creates aesthetics in a tangible medium for others to experience. How does you world look to you?
You can thank your artists or perhaps hire a new one. An artist has reached every waking hour of your life.
Whether it's a piece of clothing or how that new car looks, to the letters on the wrapper of your favorite candy bar, an artist affected your life. "To bring forth the beauty of god" maybe a presumptious statement but maybe we just need to look at how personable god has become.
