Pro Choice
I have just watched two very funny videos from Care 2 on Jon Stewart on Comedy Central. Basically he is saying stuff about Sarah Palin, showing video footage of her and her views on whining. The second one is about Bristol Palin her 17 yr old daughter who is pregnant. Although they are very funny they are totally missing the point. Pro choice means just that. Being able to make a choice. It does not mean that you do not have a choice. Bristol Palin is 17yrs old. She is under her parents care until she is 18yrs old. She has NO choice but to abide by her parents wishes, it is the law. She has no choice because her mother is Pro Life and does not believe in abortion and by the sounds of it adoption either. If you were 17yrs old and got pregnant and your mother was up for vice president wouldn't you be forced to agree with them and keep the kid? Teenagers will be teenagers but come on, when the nut gets cracked they have no choice but to do what their parents tell them. Sarah Palin is just no ordinary hockey mom she is a bully that wears lipstick and I am sure there is no way she let Bristol make her own choice. The fact that Sarah Palin does not believe in contraceptives or sex education she is keeping her daughter ignorant of the facts of life and in fact endangering her life with the possibilities of HIV and Aids and other sexually transmitted diseases.
That to me is not a very good parent or good parental skills and lacks a basic responsibility. Pro Life would mean that you also show abilities to perform your duties as a parent and protect them from those dangers. If politicians families were off limits then why wasn't Bill Clinton's affair kept out of the media. Not to mention all the other scandals from other presidents. Being a politician as with any other celebrity media, your family and your life becomes under scrutiny. After all, what you do in life is also what you do in running a country. This does not say that I believe in their lives being torn apart and an underage child should not have rights. Her pregnancy should have been private. This is on Sarah Palin who announced her daughters pregnancy to the world and made it their business. She put her family up there with her on stage and that makes them a target. If you are going to play the game with the big boys you should be prepared for the same treatment and not be a lipstick smacking pit bull whiner.
