Employers
We can all say that we have had good employers and some bad employers. But really what is a good employer? Is it that he is nice to you? Let's you get away with some things? Let's you sit on your butt and a collect a paycheck? Or, is he the tyrant, screaming at anyone and everything while kicking the cat! A good employer is really neither of the above. While he may show some traits of the above it is not what makes him a good employer. Have you ever tried to make money without the aid of anyone? It isn't that easy. An employer is some who not only listens, treats you with respect, keeps good moral, sets good examples and smiles when he sees you but he is someone who makes sure that you have a job to come to. He enforces policy when it is necessary. He ensures that you know your job and that you are producing. He ensures that the team is working together for one common purpose - the survival of the company. He ensures that you are happy coming to work because you make him money. He makes sure that you in return are making money. In other words you both aid each others survival. Of course there are those who take advantage on both sides. There are those who would think nothing of just letting you sit on your butt all day long and couldn't give a hoot if you didn't make any money. There are those that like drinking the boss's coffee all day long and getting paid for it. But it is all usually short lived and you have to find a new company that will put up with your work habits since it went under. But the boss that makes sure that you put in equal exchange for your paycheck is the one that keeps the company alive. He demands a return for providing security to you. By keeping the company alive he puts food on your table and we all survive just a little better for it. That is a good employer. |
