I am really appalled by all the drug commercials on TV these days. Everywhere you look, TV, newspapers, magazines there are ads for drugs. They are advertised on the internet and via spam e-mails.
The TV stations turn up the volume when ever the commercials start. It is so loud that half the time I jump out of my chair. So, until I am able to turn down the tube I have to listen full blast to these commercials that I have absolutely no interest in.
The commercials are riddled with promoting drugs for depression and other psychotropic drugs.
Doctors have become dispensary's for the pharmaceutical companies. They no longer decide what is good for you as they are under pharmaceutical control. In addition TV commercials tell us that we can get free 7 day trials of drugs they are advertising without going to your doctor.
These commercials MAKE you depressed.
Proven advertising methods make you feel like everyone has, buys, wants. It becomes the "norm". TV and major advertising companies know that TV is a wonderful method for influencing minds and that is exactly what the advertiser wants. He wants you to buy into it and the commercials are designed to get you to buy.
Our children are exposed to these commercials.
Our young minds are being told that drugs are okay. That depression is not to be worked out but to be given a pill.
That when mom scolds you and you are down. Well, take a pill!
Don't try to work it out, don't try to confront your feelings or your emotions, don't handle your life - take a pill!

The Pharmaceutical company is a 300 billion dollar industry. Surely it does not need any more?
Apparently they do.
Not only do they place ads at prime time but all day and all night.
There are over 8.5 million children prescribed drugs including anti depressants and anti behavior drugs. 6 million of those drugs are amphetamine like stimulant drugs such as Ritalin and Adderall. There are an unknown amount of children on other prescription drugs in the same genre.
These are classified as schedule 11 (two)drug's and they are in the same class as morphine, opium and cocaine.
Medicade paid out 82.8 million in payments for kids in New York alone. Many of these drugs were not FDA approved. These psychiatric drugs have skyrocketed in numbers in the past few years endangering our future generations.
There are many reports now on States being charged for drugs that are not FDA approved to children. Most recent one was for Seroquel. A Schztophrenic drug.

It is interesting to see that in 7 years the dollar amounts rise so swiftly and the amount of children prescribed. Cost of living has not gone up that much! I hardly think mental illness, as depression is advertised as, has become more common than the common cold. Maybe, I should not sit next to someone who is taking these drugs since it must be catching!
There are many side effects to these drugs including but not limited to; suicide, aggressive behavior and depression. Yes, depression, the same thing that you are getting the drug for in the first place. Boys as young as 14 have had to have mastectomies. Each of these drugs cause damage to the brain cells and not limited to children.
Prozac is even administered to dogs! Countless children are being prescribed as young as 1 years old. There are bills that want to prescribe to pregnant mothers and teen screening in schools luckily has been stopped.
Ritalin is sold on the black market for $5 - $10 a pill. Crushed the teens get a high.
The FDA allows such products on the market even against such proven claims and reports of drugs not approved to children. They are obviously not doing their job.
The sad part of all this is that with a healthy diet and exercise you can handle depression. The best part is that it is free and it does not cost the taxpayer anything.
Taxpayer? Yes, you heard right! That is where your tax dollars are going. To pay for these drugs that can cause further long term drug addiction abuse, Tardive Dyskinesia, hallucinations and irregular heartbeat that can be life threatening.
Tardive Dyskinesia is involuntary, repetitive movements due to anti psychotic drugs and is a permanent condition.
The etiology is not very well understood because of it's limited research on psychiatric drugs. (Wikipedia)
Our food is processed, it is sprayed with chemicals, we have fluoride in our water, we eat TV dinners and fat foods.
But where are the vitamins?
You know those things that build strong healthy body's and minds.
There are opposing sides on fluoride. Personally I don't want to drink anything but water, not something that is laced with additives. Our bodies need water and that is what we should be getting - straight water. Some people do not have a choice and can not afford bottled water. The fact that we have Flouride in our water takes away our rights. It is an enforcement.
Multi vitamins are just that. They are not what one may need. Often synthetic and have no real value. Read the label. There are plenty of great vitamins out there.
Parents wonder how to discipline or control their child. When was the last time you saw a good old spanking in the grocery store?
Probably you haven't in quite a while. Child abuse laws make it almost impossible for the fear of someone reporting you.
I am not an advocate for spanking when things can be worked out verbally. But, you know my parents were spanked and their parents were spanked and so was I and I can't say I didn't deserve it.
I can't say that I would disagree with it it if it meant millions of kids not losing their brain cells or diminishment of bodily function.
What is wrong with finding out why you are depressed in the first place and then handling the reason why so that you do not continue to be depressed? Go and do things that don't make you depressed. Stay away from people who depress you.
The psychiatric industry states that they do not know why or how to treat these mental disorders. That there is a chemical imbalance. Funny, but how could you tell a parent who has just lost his kid to Leukemia that he has a chemical imbalance and that is why he is depressed?
How could you tell that there is a chemical imbalance when NO tests are being done to prove it?
I have seen many children on these drugs and the reasons they were put on them were unfounded.
One child a 2yr old was prescribed Ritalin after his mother left him and his father. The boy cried for a week.
One child almost died and can no longer take any medication whatsoever because of what it did to his insides.
A normal 4 year old boy was put on and became so placid he was zombie like. An older boy, 11 years old put his hand through a fire window at school, punched a pregnant teacher in the stomach and took 4 of us to hold him down. All because his mother was 10 minutes late in giving him his pill (Ritalin). The withdrawls of Ritalin are to be closely supervised by a doctor because of suicide attempt.
Mood altering drugs is what they are called. Mood by definition : A state of mind or emotion.
They have invented a disorder for just about every human condition. They even have one called Premenstrual Syndrome.
A perfectly natural female body function. Perhaps who came up with this one was a guy. He probably didn't get the fact that we ladies get bitchy because we don't like having to go through all that bloating, hormone change, pimple faced, messy natural cycle each month.
But, yet they still keep on promoting these drugs and making millions.
I wonder when they will come up with THD? (too happy disorder).
