Church and State
You can be all the religious you want, you can stand by your beliefs till the end of the world but the church does not belong in politics. Church and state do not mix. Government cannot enforce your religious preference on anyone. It is part of the constitution. Politics needs to stay out of peoples lives and beliefs and do it's job of providing jobs that pay a decent wage. To provide reliable energies that benefit the land and the lives of it's people. To provide a safe and war free environment. When you start bringing religion into politics you are asserting a one religion government. That your religion is the one that rules. No one else matters and their beliefs do not matter. You do not rule on the basis of the greatest good for the greatest number. You belittle your voters. You belittle the constitution. When you make the statement that "it's up to god" when you are talking about the war in Iraq you are saying that you refuse any responsibility for your actions. Sarah Palin, if she wants to be elected had better watch who she appoints responsibility. When you are government you are the one responsible. God did not start the war. God will not finish it. "God made me do it" does not hold in this country. |

I agree with you Whitney. "Church and State"? It's completely different. Should we use "Church or State"? The same body can chose only one Church ...or State..... Be blessed. Thanks for your sharing.
Agreed.
I think the church and state position you have has a lot of Constitutional merit but I'm a little confused about your thought that the government should do it's job of providing jobs that pay a decent wage. The job of providing jobs that pay a decent wage should belong to private enterprise.
I'm with you!
