A History Lesson
The following is a quote from the Scottish historian Alexander Frasier Tyler, who was born in 1747 (29 years before America was born). A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.
The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through this sequence. From bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to great courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance, from abundance to complacency; from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependence, from dependence back into bondage. I think this quote very much explains our system of government. I think it explains exactly what is going on today. America has been on top for yes, 200 hundred years. She has gone through the bondage, slavery, to the christian faiths, she has fought wars and gained courage, people have fought for freedom and won, we were once a nation of abundant farms and goods, we are past the point of complacency and are into apathy and dependent on foreign goods and oil. We have lost our rights, liberties and freedoms. Thanks to Bush. We no longer have a Constitution. It doesn't exsist. Did Alexander Fraiser Tyler know something? It sure looks like he did! This is the exact same thing that America is going through and we need to change it now! Where are we, and what can we do about it? What actions do we take to remove our bondage? Obama and McCain do not address theses issues, they do not tell us we have no rights, they do not say they will reform for the people. They do not offer solutions for our dependency. Do not offer soutions that will better our lives. We are offered buyoffs, a stimulas, an insurance break, they want to buy you until they get into office and follow agendas that do not give you your freedom back. We need our rights, liberties and freedoms reinstated. Not more war or socialisism. Not more money for the rich. Not more tax breaks, not more tax hikes, All of these put is in deeper bondage. We need to be dependant on no one. We have a huge country with plenty willing to work the farms and the machinery, we need to be self reliant, self sustaining. We have the technology, we have the means. We have the power to enforce solar, ethanol, fresh foods free from chemicals, decent education and fair wages. To sustaine a happy, healthy and prosperous life now, not in 10 years. In 10 years it will be too late, we will be in heavy bondage. Our government is working on Alexander Fraiser Tylers's quote. It is not helping us get out, it is putting us further into debt, and wants more. Not for us but for companies that cannot sustain themselves. We will be at the mercy of bankrupt criminals. But first, we cannot do anything without our freedom. We need to make sure we gain back our Constitution. It is what keeps us free from bondage. Ralph Nader is fighting for the people. He is fighting for your freedom. He is fighting for the Constitution. He is fighting for your vote. He is on the ballot. You CAN fight for your freedom! |
